Imagine this scenario:

A producer who knows you and trusts in you, calls one day and says, "We're working on a Mystery/Psycho Thriller/Drama project, and the script is 'almost there,' but still lacks...uh, it needs more 'mystery,' more twists and turns, more surprises.  There are still a few plot holes, the characters could use a little extra motivation, and the first act drags a bit while the third act is somewhat hasty and confusing.  Anyway, I was wondering if you could handle the rewrites, do some fine-tuning, take a few bugs out of it.  You will?  Great, my assistant will bring you a copy this afternoon—no, make that in an hour."

And the assistant comes by, brings you the script and you start reading it right away.
