You get the idea: different approaches give different emphasis to our subplots.  The only way to determine the precise emphasis a subplot needs is to write several drafts and see which one works best.

Okay, through the last five chapters we've developed our characters extensively.  Now it is time to extensively develop the rest of our story.  That's what we'll do in the following section.
