Dramatica's Structural Semantic Items
The following is an alphabetical list of the semantic items that appear in the structural part of the Dramatic model. The items have been subdivided into four parts based on their structural nature: Classes, Types, Variations, and Elements.

Dramatica Structure Overview
The Dramatica Structural Model is comprised of four vertical levels. Beginning at the top, the levels include Classes, Types, Variations, and Elements.

  • Classes = 4 unique items
  • Types = 16 unique items
  • Variations = 64 unique items
  • Elements = 64 unique items in four combinations = 256 items

The levels are arranged such that the items in a lower level are nested within the items in higher levels. Therefore, each Class is comprised of 4 unique Types. Each Type is comprised of 4 unique Variations. And each Variation is comprised of a unique arrangement of 4 Elements. The following links bring you to a listing of each semantic item found in the Dramatica structural model of story. They are presented level by level.
