THREE-ACT STRUCTURE

If we break the quad form into three connected pairs, we can arrange the merged pieces into a timeline of three items going from left to right.. For example:

Example 3A

1
2
3
(1–2)
(2–3)
(3–4)

Example 3B

1
2
3
(1–2)
(2–3)
(3–4)

The Dramatica three-act structure is less rigid, less "structured" than the Dramatica four-act structure. The three-act structure most closely represents an audience's experience of the story. It is an excellent perspective to get a feel for the story and a sense of its meaning.
