"When I first saw Dramatica Pro on the shelves of a local writer's store, its premise intrigued me. It looked just like what I needed to get back into writing and organizing my writing. So I purchased it.

When I started playing with the product to learn it, one word kept coming to my mind, "Incredible!" Dramatica Pro is truly an incredibly well thought out product. It is so well thought out that I joke with friends that it was designed by aliens, because it is way too well thought out to be human in origin. Seriously, the thinking and planning that went into Dramatica Pro is really nothing short of incredible.

Writing can be a complex task. Organizing a piece can be tiring and frustrating at times. Dramatica Pro helps you organize and structure your work; but that's only touching the surface of the power that lies readily accessible in this tool.

The program is divided into sections which all build upon your story in an interrelated manner. The Story Guide is an incredibly (there's that incredible word again) well thought out series of questions that help you determine exactly the type of screenplay or novel that you would like to write. The questions stimulate creativity and help you develop solid story lines and ideas. This is the first step and it's fun.  Right about now is when I started feeling a certain wonderment for this tool.

I've only had the product for a short time, and I am still learning its features, of which there are many. I'm also learning a lot about writing from this tool that I had never learned back in college. And if a product like Dramatica Pro can teach an experienced writer more about writing, then it has more than paid for itself in a very short time.

Included in the product are some great tools for building characters, plots, story points and more. It includes a good report writer and works with other products like Screenwriter 2000. One of my favorite features is the Brainstorming tool. Where are these people from? How the heck did they come up with all this? It is truly incredible.

Aside from being a writer and teacher, I'm also a programmer. The programming that went into Dramatica Pro is truly inspiring and, well, yes, incredible. This is not a simple piece of software to write. But the programmers not only achieved their goals, they made it user-friendly as well. I love this company!!!

For anyone considering a tool to help them develop a story or screenplay, or to simply stir the creative juices, I highly recommend Dramatica Pro."
