Filmmaker Julie Dash on Dramatica

"For years I have been searching for new and creative ways to tell a story. The old "Tall Tale" or "Once Upon a Time" method has long been exhausted. It's wonderful to work with the many different paradigms and features found in the Dramatica program. While I'm not an expert at Dramatica yet, I can said it has helped me tremendously. Dramatica has ended my search." -- Julie Dash (Director/Writer/Producer) Love Song, Incognito, Subway Stories, Daughters of the Dust

Julie Dash's earlier film work is deeply intense, thought provoking, and beautifully photographed. Usually her films are carried among independent art houses in trendy areas of the country such as New York's' SoHo District. Her agency (William Morris) has begun moving her into the mainstream market, beginning first with light TV Drama & Romance. She recently completed an MTV original movie titled "Love Song" which can be seen at different times throughout the months of December 2000 & January 2001.
