New! Dramatica, A New Theory of Story
A slightly updated fourth edition of the Dramatica theory book is now available for download. This is over 300 pages of readable, printable Dramatica theory available for the first time in downloadable electronic .pdf form. This is a large file (936K) and may take a while to download...but it's worth it! (download theory book now!) Note: there are some formatting problems with the last ten pages of the book (Appendix 2 and 3).

You can download a separate .pdf file that contains just the appendices in it's original terminology (144K). (download appendices now).

Dramatica Comic Book
One of the items that ships with each Dramatica Pro and the Writer's DreamKit is a copy of the Dramatica comic book, "The Secret of Great Stories, Vol. 1: How Does Story Work?" Here is a complete softcopy available for downloading. This is a large file (2.46Mb), so keep that in mind should you decide to download and view it. (download comic now!)

Dramatica Dictionary
The Dramatica Dictionary has an explanation for each unique term associated with the Dramatica Theory. Find the definition of the term you are looking for (284K). (download now) ! Dramatica Table of Story Elements
This chart illustrates the core Dramatica structure found in all complete stories. Its four major areas––Situation, Activity, Manipulation, and Fixed Attitudes––represent areas of conflict essential to every fully explored story. Nested within each of these four areas on this chart are various story components which are used to create dramatic story points such as the “Story Goal” and “Problem.” The components have been arranged according to their relevance to genre, plot, theme, and character.
