WEEKEND WORKSHOPS ON DRAMATICA THEORY
(Workshop Outline Below)

Chris Huntley, co-creator of the Dramatica Theory of Story, will lead two, weekend workshops designed as introductions to the Dramatica theory, a bridge between "traditional" story concepts and Dramatica's own reinterpretation of those story concepts.

"My hope is that the topics covered in the workshops will be so fundamental that writers will be able to apply what they learn immediately, even if they don't own any Dramatica software," says Huntley. "Since Dramatica was released over six years ago, we've found that writers' biggest hurdles in learning Dramatica involves connecting Dramatica to their previous education and experience with story. These workshops should provide writers with the necessary background to learn Dramatica much faster."

Some of the topics to be covered include: defining our terms -- finding common ground in every day story terminology; balancing a writer's role as author with a writer's role as audience; the importance of Context in determining a story's meaning; the four throughlines; and more. Each workshop will be held on a Saturday and Sunday at the offices of Screenplay Systems in Burbank, CA.
