DRAMATICA NEWS:

Many users are curious about how the upcoming update relates to the flyer promoting Dramatica Pro and Dramatica Lite.

Dramatica Pro version 1.5 represents all the work that has been done on the software since last June. Windows users have some of these features already. The update has over 100 enhancements and fixes, and includes some new features, which I will detail in a later message. Dramatica Pro also has an expanded set of casting Icons, and 26 story files.

Dramatica Lite is a simpler version of Dramatica Pro. It doesn't have all the windows of Dramatica Pro (no StoryPoints, limited question paths, limited reports, no ability to paste custom icons, and many smaller features and options are pre-set). The documentation is simpler: the entire manual is about 140 pages. The price is less, too.

Basically, the version you now have, either 1.0 (Mac users) and 1.1 (Windows users), will be updated to Dramatica Pro 1.5. Final details are being worked out, but our current plan (subject to change) is that everyone will be provided with the ability to update their program for FREE. You MUST have returned your registration card by May 1 to get the update.

There may be a nominal shipping charge if you do not want to 1) pick up your copy from SSI or 2) download it from the BBS. This is still being worked out.

You will receive further information shortly. The enormity of manufacturing and contacting/shipping updates for thousands of users is quite complex. Please bear with us during this time.

APRIL USERS' GROUP MEETING:

Wednesday, April 12, we will be talking about new features in the Update (possibly a brief projected demonstration). The film of the night will be: "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner", starring Hepburn/Tracy/Poitier.

LAST (FREE) DRAMATICA BASICS CLASS

As many of you know, Chris and Melanie have been teaching the Dramatica classes for free for the past year. The classes have become more developed over the past year and as a result, Screenplay Systems MAY begin offering them to the general public.

This Saturday is the last Dramatica Basics class that is scheduled as part of the free classes. I urge anyone who has not taken it to squeeze themselves into this 4 hour class. The class time is from 10am - 2:30pm. Those interested should contact Mark Hasslet here at SSI: (818) 843-6557 x532 before the close of business on Friday. (Space is limited!)

There are also several remaining Tuesday Night classes being taught (Tues 7pm-9pm).
